We will leave that for another day, and rather turn to an Adolf who's name is on a street sign in Krefeld, namely Mr. Luther.
Adolf studied to become a lawyer, but his passion lied in his art. He studied law at the university of Bonn and obtained a Ph.D in law. At age 32 with a fancy degree under hat, he devoted much of his time to painting, by age 45 he gave up completely working as a judge and became simply an artist. Of course the contrast of judge and artist receive very different respect from society, Adolf was no simple artist, he was the forerunner of kinetic art and optical art. His work inspired many directors and those working with visual effects. Luther's fame came in 1967 when he made a work of art with the use of light and smoke, a few years later he worked with laser beams in his art.
The type of art Luther created is copied in modern designs found in televisions and cellphones, also his style of art is mimicked in futuristic movies, and modern theatre. As a demonstration of appreciation of the man and his work the citz of Krefeld made Adolf Luther an honorary citizen in 1990 and named a street after him. A year earlier in 1989 the Luther foundation was established.
