When I read an article about a 5-year-old girl being shamed because of her name it struck a chord with me. The story was covered by all the big networks, including CNN, The Huffington Post, The New York Times, Sky News and it was re-posted thousands of times and sparked many negative comments by bloggers and was also covered by Boredpanda which pointed out that now it is online and the name-shaming of the girl and her mother only continues. The little girl’s name is Abcde pronounced (ab-see-dee).

AuthorMy name is Adolph, and you can imagine how many strange situations I have been in because of it. Often people are shocked, offended or confused when I introduce myself. Some show concern and suggest that I use my second name or use a nickname to avoid this awkwardness. This experience motivated me to start this Blog project to inform the world about all the other Adolphs, depreciated and forgotten who, nethertheless, changed this world to a better place. Archives
