Adolph Lusinsky Cinematographer Nationality: USA Born: Unknown Alive and well How often do you watch the credits of a film? The list is really long and it really is incredible how much work goes into making a film, especially animation films. Recently my wife and I watched Mauna and when we looked on Wikipedia we saw that one of the cinematographers was Adolph Lusinsky. Adolphe Alexandre Chaillet Engineer, chemist, inventor Born in France, Paris 5 July 1876 - unknown ca. 1915 “What is to give light must endure burning.” - Viktor Frankl The life of Adolph August Chaillet is mostly unknown and his name seldom gets mentioned in history, yet his contribution shaped our modern world. He was born in a district of Paris to the Swedish watchmaker Samuel Alexander Chaillet and Eugénie Eva Wendawowicz who was born in Russia. Adolph studied in both German and French and became a chemist and mineralogist. He worked with his father in a factory that made incandescent lamps. in 1892 he emigrated to the United States and continued working with lamps in Marlboro, Massachusetts. He married Maude Bickmore, and they had three children. |
AuthorMy name is Adolph, and you can imagine how many strange situations I have been in because of it. Often people are shocked, offended or confused when I introduce myself. Some show concern and suggest that I use my second name or use a nickname to avoid this awkwardness. This experience motivated me to start this Blog project to inform the world about all the other Adolphs, depreciated and forgotten who, nethertheless, changed this world to a better place. Archives
