I tried to find emojis to represent each of the sections I am interested in. Finding one for religion was tricky since either there is a symbol for christianity, or islam, or judaism but not for the general concept. I had to settle for the chinese symbol which could mean ancestor or ancestral place or temple.
Currently, I am working on a PhD in the study of religion, I am researching pipe smoking among the amaXhosa people in South Africa. There are as many definitions of religion as there are religions, some are for more useful than others though.
Most religions have some element of ritual in them.
Which for the most part seems fine, but its pretty easy to invent rituals and claim that it is a religion.
Rituals also are often assumed to be serious solemn behaviours, yet there is an element of fun and playfulness in religion too.
This is just a placeholder I have a lot of ideas to share here about religion... in time.
